Our differences make us unique; our respect for this uniqueness can help to unite us. I was very much into the idea of portraying ideas related to diversity. I wrote the poem--if you want to call it that. In the visual interpretation of the words I used people as the branches of my diversity tree.
This was my 2nd digital painting, done in 2006 and using Corel Paint software. I used digital pastels for the sky, and digital watercolors for the grass. The rest was probably done with a paint bucket feature.
I am a self-taught artist. I work with various mediums including acrylic, watercolors, pastels, graphic arts, film, digital photography, and digital imaging. Much of my work involves mixed mediums. I am also a portrait artist and illustrator, heavily influenced and inspired by the communities in which I have lived. I also enjoy illustrating sports scenes, painting portraits, and drawing cartoons. I take on limited freelance work, so please contact me if you are interested in having a portrait or caricature made.
