I was sorting through random photographs I've taken over the years and came across a couple that I took with my old mobile device--the Sony Ericsson C905a. (No cell phone I've had since has taken better pictures, in my opinion). At the time I decided I wanted to snap some shots of my toilet and figured inspiration beyond that would come eventually. I placed the plunger in the bowl, probably anticipating that I'd come up with some catchy one-liner or something for a poster or t-shirt. It took a few years, but I decided to finally do something with one of the photographs. I took another photo of mine taken on a walk and thought it'd be perfect for the toilet photograph. I inserted the 2nd photograph--the sign--into the digital file of the toilet photograph. Then I added a filter I thought would enhance the look.
I am a self-taught artist. I work with various mediums including acrylic, watercolors, pastels, graphic arts, film, digital photography, and digital imaging. Much of my work involves mixed mediums. I am also a portrait artist and illustrator, heavily influenced and inspired by the communities in which I have lived. I also enjoy illustrating sports scenes, painting portraits, and drawing cartoons.
